Walk On Into Top Ten

26 Nov 2001
Walk On has gone straight in to the UK charts at No.5 and the Irish charts at No.7.

The fourth single to be released from All That You Can't Leave Behind has just been released internationally outside the US and Canada. Earlier this year it reached No. 1 in Canada.

Walk On is being warmly reviewed by the critics too. This is what James Salmon at Dotmusic.com had to say:

'...Unlike the Manics, though, U2 don't have to labour to get their particular message across. Far from it, this elegantly crafted track finds Bono and The Edge on scintillating form. Eventually boiling over to reach a massive 'aleluya' finale, this is pop music on an epic scale.'

The song is dedicated to Aung San Suu Kyi, under virtual house arrest in Burma since 1989. Learn more about Aung San Suu Kyi in our Hearts and Minds pages and at www.burmacampaign.org.uk or www.freeburmacoalition.org.

We'll bring you more chart placings for Walk On from other countries as we get news on them.
